How do I unlock new characters?
Characters are unlocked through various in-game achievements: defeating specific bosses, collecting coins, reaching level milestones, or finding coffins in dungeons. Check the Characters page for individual unlock methods.
What are Crawler effects?
Crawler effects are unique abilities on character cards. They trigger when specific card types are played while that character is active. For example, Antonio deals 10% more damage when red (attack) cards are played. Building a deck that synergizes with your character's Crawler is key to success.
How does weapon evolution work?
Weapons evolve when you have the base weapon card plus cards from the same evolution group, plus an Evolution Gem. The Evolution Gem is a rare drop from glowing Bat enemies. When conditions are met, the evolution happens automatically. See Weapons & Evolutions for all evolution chains.
What is the best starter character?
Antonio is the best starter character — he's unlocked from the Tutorial and has a simple but effective red card damage boost. For advanced players, Pugnala Provola (universal damage on any card) and Krochi Freetto (free revive) are considered the strongest overall.
How do I get more mana?
Mana is generated by mana-type cards (purple). Arca gives 3 mana, Empty Tome gives 2 mana and draws a card, Tome o' Lama gives 5 mana and reduces cooldowns. You can also increase your maximum mana pool by upgrading the Mana Power-Up stat.
What gems should I use?
The best gems depend on your build. Might gems increase damage, Amount gems add projectiles, and Double Damage gems guarantee crits on first hit. Evolution Gems are the rarest and only used for weapon evolution. See the Gem Planner for optimal gem recommendations.
How many dungeons are there?
There are 6 dungeons: Tutorial, Mad Forest, Inlaid Library, Gallo Tower, Dairy Plant, and Cappella Magna. Most dungeons have 3 difficulty tiers, with Cappella Magna having 2 tiers (7 and 8) as the endgame content.
What does armor do?
Armor is a shield that absorbs damage before your health. When you take damage, armor is depleted first. Defense cards (blue) grant armor. Armor Strike is a stat that converts armor to damage — useful for aggressive builds.
How do I find relics?
Relics are found by defeating elite enemies and bosses, or by exploring secret areas on dungeon floors. Different dungeons have different relic drops. See the Relic Guide for where to farm specific relics.
What is the endgame?
The endgame is Cappella Magna (Difficulty 7-8) and unlocking all 18 characters. After that, the challenge is optimizing builds, collecting all relics, and achieving all 100+ unlocks. Power-Up progression persists between runs.
